You are invited to hike from 9 am to noon on Saturday, March 5. Sign-in begins at 8:30am. We'll take a 4.6-mile hike along the north and west shorelines of Lake Hodges. This scenic hike offers a pleasant mix of sun and shade and beautiful lake views. There is little to no elevation gain and this hike is rated as easy.  

Meeting location: Lake Hodges Visitor Center/Concession Parking Lot, (20175 Lake Dr. Escondido, 92029) is the closest associated address to the Lake Hodges Visitor Center near the boat launch facility. Directions: Drive to the original starting location (SDRP Parking Lot, 20175 Lake Dr. @ Beech Ln. intersection), then take the paved road (Lake Hodges Way) on the left for roughly one mile to the Lake Hodges Visitor Center.  Look for City of San Marcos vehicles and staff in the back of the parking lot of the Visitor Center.

Recommended: Sturdy hiking boots or shoes; adequate sun protection (such as head covering, sunscreen, sunglasses); plenty of water (1 liter minimum per person suggested); a light snack; trekking poles are optional.
