With 3,557 families living in the eighteen (18) mobile home parks located within the City of San Marcos, the city’s Mobile Home Rent Review Commission was established by the San Marcos City Council to encourage fair bargaining between mobile home owners and mobile home park owners in order to achieve mutually satisfactory agreements regarding space rental rates in mobile home parks.The stated purpose of the Ordinance is to protect residents of such parks from unreasonable rental increases, while at the same time preserving for the park owners a “just and reasonable return” on the park owner’s investment.
