Administer democratic processes: Overseeing city elections to ensure fairness and compliance with applicable laws; facilitating access to city records and legislative actions; administering regulations related to the Fair Political Practices Commission
Ensure compliance: Acting as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes, including:
- Political Reform Act
- Brown Act
- Public Records Act
Manage official records: Maintaining and protecting vital, permanent and historic city records; managing the citywide records management program to ensure efficient and secure handling of records.
Support commissions: Coordinating the annual recruitment process for city commissions.
Manage the Municipal Code: Updating and maintaining the city’s municipal code (a collection of city laws)
