Wonka (PG)

 Wonka is a 2023 musical fantasy film directed by Paul King1. It tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, a character in the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, depicting his early days as a chocolatier123. The narrative unfolds in a setting that is a hybrid of Dickensian London and prewar Paris, christened ‘Kingstown’ in the film2. The official synopsis describes the movie as “an origin story that explores the vivid, mythical beginnings of the imaginative young inventor before he becomes the renowned scrumdiddlyumptious Mozart of chocolate”3.
