San Elijo Lagoon

Take a practically flat walk of 6.5 miles with an elevation gain of 375 feet along the south side of the San Elijo Lagoon, from El Camino Real in Rancho Santa Fe to N. Rios Ave in Solana Beach. No restrooms at trailhead or along route.  

Meeting location: El Camino Real just south of La Orilla, Rancho Santa Fe.  

Directions to La Orilla Trailhead:

• From I-5 take the Lomas Santa Fe exit and go east on Lomas Santa Fe

• Turn left on Highland Drive (a 4-way stop)

• Turn left on El Camino Real

• Pull into the parking area on the left side before the 90-degree bend in the road.

Please be advised that the original route to this hike has been altered due to current trail closures. The new distance is approximately 5.5 miles.
