Ed is a resident of the Twin Oaks Valley where he lives with his wife Carole and daughters, Cailin and Brooke. Ed is a California native moving from Sacramento to San Diego as a child. After graduating from Poway High School, Ed joined the United States Army where he served over six years including a tour in Germany and assignments in Texas and Colorado. Ed returned to San Diego for a position with the San Diego Sheriff. Ed’s work assignments ranged from detentions, patrol, traffic investigator and detective. Ed supervised at the team level, special investigations, emergency management and was the manager of personnel for the 4000-employee department. He also served two years as the station commander for the communities of Santee and Lakeside before retiring.

After retiring, Ed took a position as the operations security manager for an international non-profit school based in Carlsbad before accepting an offer as a deputy director for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. Ed left the transit system in 2017 to start his own consulting business and focus more of his time and energy on our community.

Ed volunteered four years on the San Marcos Traffic Commission and the past three years as a city planning commissioner. Ed volunteers time and financial support to several civic organizations and non-profit groups including the Lions club, Rotary and the Boys & Girls Club.

Ed has a bachelor’s degree in business management, a master’s degree in organizational leadership, is a graduate of the Cal State San Marcos Leadership North County program and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Ed has a lifelong commitment to public service and is honored to be the first elected representative by the residents of San Marcos, District Four.
