Rec Club: After School Care
City of San Marcos partners with SMSUD for quality after school care!
Starting August 2025, the City of San Marcos is excited to offer a brand new after-school program designed specifically for SMUSD families!
Your child will enjoy supervised care with trained staff, including snacks, games, and dedicated homework time. Transportation is provided via SMUSD bus service directly to our facilities. This program is available at the San Marcos Community Center and the San Elijo Rec Center.
PROGRAM DETAILS
AGES: Full-day TK and elementary students (half-day TK not eligible)
TRANSPORTATION: Bus service from SMUSD schools to San Marcos Community Center or San Elijo Rec Center (bus pass required and purchased separately through SMUSD)
HOURS: Monday-Friday from school dismissal to 6:00 PM
COST: $400/month (+ Bus Pass- sold separately)
WHAT'S INCLUDED: Supervised care, snacks, games, homework assistance

Camper Eligibility & Program Overview
Eligibility:
Children must be in Kindergarten through 6th grade — no exceptions.

Children who have not yet attended Kindergarten are not eligible for this program.

Children currently in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or who will complete TK in 2025 are not eligible for Adventure Day Camp.
Program Highlights:
Campers will enjoy a variety of activities, including creative projects, games, field trips, and special events.
Thanksgiving & Winter Break Camp Registration
Opens October 1 at 10 A.M.
Thanksgiving Camp
Dates: November 24–26
Location: Jack’s Pond Park
Fee: $105
Winter Break – Week 1
Dates: December 22–26 (No camp on December 24 & 25)
Location: Jack’s Pond Park
Fee: $105
Winter Break – Week 2
Dates: December 29–January 2 (No camp on January 1)
Location: Jack’s Pond Park
Fee: $140
Winter Break – Week 3
Dates: January 5–9
Location: Jack’s Pond Park and San Marcos Community Center
Fee: $175
Adventure Day Camp at Jack's Pond and Community Center is $175 per week ($35 per day)
You must sign up for the full week to participate.
There is a $25 non-resident fee for each week of camp
There is a $25 administrative fee for refunds. (per week, per child)
All refunds must be made by the Monday BEFORE the first day of camp
otherwise you will not be eligible for a refund.
