Our Services

The Transportation Engineering (TE) Division is responsible for Transportation Planning, Traffic Design, Traffic Safety reviews and Traffic Operations & Control throughout the City. This division is responsible for the control and operations of the City’s traffic signal system and the Traffic Management Center. The division is also responsible for reviews of Traffic Impact Studies associated with upcoming and planned development projects as well as establishing and updating the standards and implementation practices.

TE is responsible for the design and application of traffic control devices, such as traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, and road striping, and citizen inquiries and concerns regarding speeding, parking, bike and pedestrian facilities and other traffic-related issues.

The goal of the TE division is to enhance the quality of life for residents by continuing to improve access and mobility to all users of the public right of way, to ensure an efficient flow of traffic on our main corridors, and to vigilantly work toward maximizing the safety and mobility of motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians, while ensuring unimpeded access to our public safety and emergency personnel.
